Don & Diana

In the Fall of 2012, Don and Diana McBride bought the Iron Horse Inn after it had fallen into hard times. The McBrides are passionate about historic preservation, and the Iron Horse Inn would be their sixth historic preservation project and third Bed and Breakfast.  Diana retired from her teaching career at the end of 2012 and moved to Granbury to take on the restoration.  Seven months later, June of 2013, the Iron Horse Inn reopened as a luxury hosted bed and breakfast.  Don retired from his pharmaceutical career in 2016 and joined Diana full-time at the Inn.  The McBrides bring extensive experience in the B&B industry having previously owned and operated Victorian Reflections in Abilene, Kansas for 18 years.

They were featured in Midwest Living and received numerous recognitions for hospitality and historic preservation. Victorian Reflections continues to be one of Kansas’ premier inns under the new name of Abilene’s Victorian Inn and owners Adrian and Jay Potter.

The McBrides delight in preparing and serving a full breakfast to their guests each morning and there will always be a beverage and some tasty treat available late afternoon.
